The Facilities of Medicine and Nursing, celebrated World Breast Cancer Awareness Day with the title (How Can We Help??) under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Saad Hussein, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Hani Shawqi, Dean of the College of Medicine, on Monday, May 13, 2024.
Dr. Ashraf Saad confirmed that the university intends to participate in all presidential initiatives that support integrated health care for Egyptian women, including the initiative to eliminate breast cancer, noting that the celebration is part of a comprehensive campaign in which the university aims to raise the level of awareness of breast cancer and means of prevention to limit its spread.
This is for students and university employees by distributing awareness leaflets and urging them to perform the necessary medical examinations and breast self-examination.
Dr. Hani Shawqi pointed out that the campaign comes within a group of student activities at the university for students in the medical sector in the Faculties of Medicine and Nursing, and targets all information related to breast cancer.
The celebration also aimed to spread health awareness about early detection of breast cancer among students and women working at the university. The day includes health education sessions about breast cancer and risk factors. If they appear, it is necessary to consult a doctor, measuring vital signs, and a training session on breast self-examination and risk factors.
