Mariam Abd El Hady Represents Egyptian Universities and the Middle East at the World Food Forum in Rome
Mariam Abd El Hady, a fourth-year student at the Field of Desert Agriculture at King Salman International University, proudly represented Egyptian universities and the Middle East at the World Food Forum held in Rome, Italy, from October 14 to 18, 2023.
The World Food Forum, established by the FAO in 2021, aims to transform global agri-food systems to achieve a sustainable and hunger-free future. The forum focuses on three key pillars: youth action, science and innovation, and cooperative investment. It also hosted the annual World Food Day and high-level discussions on water scarcity in agriculture, alongside the Global Family Farming Forum, fostering inclusive dialogues for the future of agri-food systems.
Mariam’s participation in this prestigious global event underscores the creativity and excellence of King Salman International University’s students. The event brought together global leaders, experts, and young innovators from around the world under the theme: “Good Food for All, Today and Tomorrow.”
Her involvement reflects the university’s commitment to empowering students and enabling them to contribute to global discussions and solutions for critical issues such as food security and sustainability.
