Pharmacy Students Visit Zeta Pharma Factory
Pharmacy students recently visited Zeta Pharma Factory in the industrial city of Sadat. The visit began with an informative lecture by the factory’s Quality Assurance Manager, who discussed the factory’s history, design, and adherence to global quality standards. The lecture was followed by a Q&A session where students actively engaged, asking questions about quality standards and their importance in ensuring high-quality pharmaceutical products, as well as career opportunities available for graduates at the factory.
The students were then divided into two groups for a detailed tour of various departments, including the Quality Control department, where they observed the analysis of raw materials using advanced techniques such as chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, viscosity measurement, and dissolution testing. They also visited the Research and Development department, which is focused on solving challenges related to pharmaceutical formulations and innovating better drug compositions. Additionally, they toured the Production department, learning about the manufacturing processes for different dosage forms, such as tablets, capsules, and effervescent tablets. The visit concluded with a tour of the storage facilities, where students learned about the proper storage conditions for raw materials.
The students were able to directly connect their university studies, particularly analytical techniques learned in the lab, with real-world applications in the pharmaceutical industry. The visit also included the presentation of training certificates to the students at the university campus.
