KSIU Hosts an Awareness Seminar titled “Key Challenges and Threats Facing Egypt”

At King Salman International University, we are always committed to deepening student awareness of the contemporary challenges facing Egypt’s national security, correcting any misconceptions, and fostering loyalty and belonging to the nation. This is reflected in our continuous efforts to shape minds, enhance ideas, and build a strong sense of national pride.

The university organized an awareness seminar titled “Key Challenges and Threats Facing the Egyptian State” at its campuses in AlTur and Ras Sudr on December 23 and 24, 2024. The seminar was led by Major General Dr. Samir Abdelghany, a lecturer at the Military Academy.

During his lecture, General Abdelghany emphasized the importance of spreading national awareness among young people and avoiding the spread of rumors on social media. He stressed that youth should verify the accuracy of information before sharing it, given the political conspiracies targeting Egyptian youth. He further affirmed that the Egyptian army is the army of the people and is one of the best in the world.

He also stressed the necessity of nurturing the spirit of patriotism among Egyptian youth, making them aware of the external challenges Egypt faces, including political, social, technological, and economic threats aimed at fragmenting national unity.

The general also discussed the situation in Palestine, highlighting Egypt’s support for Gaza since the start of the crisis on October 7, 2023, and reaffirmed Egypt’s efforts to support the Palestinian cause and confront attempts to displace Palestinians and undermine the cause.

He pointed out the Egyptian government’s efforts to face both internal and external threats, citing examples of conspiracies and plots by some Western countries to destabilize and divide Arab nations.

At the end of the seminar, General Abdelghany called on everyone to support the political leadership and be cautious of rumors and misinformation, which he referred to as a “cultural Cold War.” He urged the youth to unite for the sake of Egypt.

The seminar concluded with an open Q&A session where professors, staff, and students raised numerous questions. General Abdelghany addressed all queries and thanked the audience for their engagement. The university management expressed their sincere gratitude to General Abdelghany for his valuable insights and wished him continued success.
