Veterinary Medicine Students Visit Slaughterhouse Basatin

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Field of Veterinary Medicine and the Cairo Veterinary Directorate, veterinary students recently visited the Slaughterhouse Basatin for practical training on handling slaughter animals from their entry into the slaughterhouse to their exit as safe, healthy meat for consumers.

The visit was supervised by the Deputy Minister, the Director of the Directorate, and the General and Executive Director of the Administration, with several faculty members and staff accompanying the students to provide hands-on training and explain common pathological cases such as tuberculosis in cattle and cysts in cattle worms, among other diseases requiring total or partial slaughter of the animal or its internal organs.
