KSIU Hosts National Summit for Student Union Leaders
King Salman International University hosted the National Summit for Student Union Leaders from Egyptian universities and institutes under the theme “Republic Student Union” at its Sharm El-Sheikh branch on February 2, 2025.
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Saad Hussein, KSIU President, students participated in summit activities at the Youth City in Sharm El-Sheikh from February 1 to 4, 2025, aimed at strengthening university students’ roles and supporting the goals of the new republic.
The event was led by Prof. Dr. Karim Hassan Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities and Director of the Leaders Preparation Institute, with participation from 45 universities across Egypt, including government, private, and national universities. The day began with welcoming speeches, followed by workshops for student union presidents and vice presidents to discuss new initiatives for student activities and collaboration across universities.
The summit concluded with a roundtable, chaired by Prof. Dr. Karim Hassan Hammam, where workshop outcomes were presented, and discussions focused on ways to develop student activities and enhance cooperation between universities to benefit students.
The event also featured a session with MP Ahmed Fathy, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Young Leaders Foundation, discussing student unions’ role in university life and proposals for further development.
The summit emphasized the importance of student unions in empowering youth, fostering creativity, and enabling student participation in decision-making, in alignment with the National Strategy for Higher Education.
