Plant Production Students Participate in Practical Training on Smart Irrigation and Desert Agriculture at Ras Sudr Farm
At King Salman International University, we are committed to providing students with the latest technologies that align with the evolving needs of the job market, ensuring their readiness for real-world professional challenges.
As part of this commitment, fourth-year students in the Plant Production Program received hands-on training in advanced desert agriculture techniques and post-harvest treatments of field crops. The training took place at the university’s farm in Ras Sudr, which is fully equipped with modern agricultural technologies.
During the training, students practiced operating and managing smart irrigation systems for various crops including olives, jojoba, medicinal and aromatic plants, and a range of vegetable crops. This practical experience allowed them to understand the efficiency and sustainability of modern irrigation methods.
In addition, students were trained in harvest and post-harvest handling techniques for the fava bean crop cultivated at the farm, enhancing their practical skills and strengthening the link between academic learning and field application.
