KSIU Hosted Critic Ehab Al-Mallah for a Seminar on Egyptian Identity and Literature
In line with its commitment to fostering cultural dialogue and enriching the intellectual experience of its students, King Salman International University hosted renowned journalist and literary critic Mr. Ehab Al-Mallah for a cultural seminar held by the Department of Arabic Language at the Field of Al-Alsun and Applied Languages.
The seminar, which took place on campus, was attended by faculty members and students who engaged actively with Mr. Al-Mallah in discussions on the evolution of Egyptian literature, its distinctive characteristics, and its interaction with global literary movements. The discussion also explored the impact of translation on cultural identity.
Mr. Al-Mallah, who currently serves as Head of Publications at Dar Al-Maaref and Editor-in-Chief of October Magazine, praised the university’s academic environment and commended the relevance of its programs to the labor market. In recognition of the experience, he dedicated his weekly column in Al-Shorouk newspaper to reflect on his visit and the university’s cultural role.
The event marks yet another step in KSIU’s efforts to bridge academic learning with real-world cultural engagement.
