KSIU Student Union Launches First “Basmet Engaz” to Celebrate Student Excellence
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Saad, KSIU President, the KSIU Student Union held the first edition of “Basmet Engaz – Achievement Mark” to recognize outstanding student teams and clubs across various fields of activity.
The event awarded the following:
- Best Scientific Team: KART, led by Mohamed Aram, supervised by Dr. Sherif Mohsen
- Best General Activities Team: SAC, led by Mohamed Harouni, supervised by Dr. Mohamed Tolan
- Best Community Service Team: HOH, led by Aya Tharwat, supervised by Dr. Amani Abdel Fattah
SAC was also named Best Overall Team across KSIU’s three campuses, with honors for team leaders:
- Marihan Khaled (Sharm El-Sheikh)
- Mohamed Harouni (El-Tur)
- Kareem Hany (Ras Sudr)

In addition, student Ziad Samir was honored for his continued success in bodybuilding competitions, placing 4th nationally this year despite an injury—under the support of the Field of Physical Therapy.
Students Ahmed Ashraf, Mohamed Tarek, and Habiba Mohamed were also recognized for representing KSIU at the National Student Leadership Dialogue Forum held at the Institute of Leadership Development in Helwan under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education.
The event concluded with a football league award ceremony (El-Tur Branch):
🥇 1st Place: Field of Dentistry
🥈 2nd Place: Field of Nursing
🥉 3rd Place: Field of Medicine
The trophy was received by Dr. Gilan, Dean of the Field of Dentistry.
“Basmet Engaz” reflects the university’s dedication to empowering students and fostering a vibrant and active campus culture.
