KSIU Hosts and Organizes the International Conference on Nature Conservation and Genetic Resources
King Salman International University (KSIU) continued to reinforce its leadership in environmental protection and natural resource preservation by hosting the International Conference on Nature Conservation and Genetic Resources – Achievements of the 2030 Strategy and Future Visions, held from 25 to 27 November 2025 at the university’s Sharm El-Sheikh campus.
The conference was organized under the patronage of Prof. Ashraf Hussein, President of KSIU, and in scientific partnership with the International Foundation for Science, Innovation, and Sustainable Community Development (ISISD). The event also welcomed prominent international institutions, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), the National Research Centre, CEDARE, and several Arab and international universities.
Hosting the conference at KSIU’s Sharm El-Sheikh branch reaffirmed the university’s role as an international academic platform that brings together leading experts, decision-makers, and researchers from across the globe. Discussions were held across three main thematic tracks:
- Biological resources
- Renewable resources
- Non-renewable resources
Additional specialized sessions addressed key topics such as women and youth empowerment, the future of natural resources, sustainable architecture, and cultural heritage preservation.
The conference witnessed distinguished participation from KSIU students, who played an essential role in organization, hospitality, and coordination among international delegations. Their contribution provided them with hands-on experience in event management, teamwork, communication, and exposure to the latest research and technologies in environmental science and genetic resources. Delegates praised the students’ professionalism, noting that their performance reflects the university’s vision of preparing a generation capable of leadership, innovation, and community service.
Attendees expressed their appreciation for KSIU’s academic and research capabilities, outstanding student services, and high operational standards—affirming the university’s growing reputation as a regional and international hub capable of hosting large-scale scientific events.
The conference concluded with key recommendations aimed at strengthening international collaboration, supporting scientific research in nature and genetic resource conservation, and developing innovative solutions to mitigate climate change. The closing session emphasized KSIU’s ongoing national and scientific role in serving the community and promoting sustainable development.
