Faculty Position Announcement

1. Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Linguistics and Translation (Russian)

The Faculty of Applied Languages (Russian Department) at King Salman International University (KSIU), Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in Linguistics and Translation (Russian).

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Interpreting Studies, or a closely related field from a recognized institution. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in teaching and professional practice in the fields of translation and interpreting, with expertise in Russian language studies. The successful candidate should be engaged, collaborative, innovative, and committed to excellence in teaching, research, and academic service.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the faculty’s academic mission through:

  • Teaching 3–4 courses per semester;
  • Academic advising and mentoring of students;
  • Conducting research and scholarly activities;
  • Participating in community engagement and professional service activities; and
  • Undertaking departmental and administrative responsibilities.

Teaching duties include classroom and online instruction; course preparation and development; maintaining expertise in the subjects taught; preparing instructional materials; consulting with students regarding course content; grading examinations, assignments, and presentations; and supervising independent study and research projects.

The Faculty of Applied Languages offers an undergraduate degree program in Russian Translation and Interpreting. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Russian Language Studies, or a closely related field from a recognized institution. Candidates should have experience in teaching Russian as a second language and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate should be collaborative, creative, capable of working effectively within a team environment, and proficient in the use of educational technologies, multimedia tools, and digital learning platforms.
