Professor of Organic Chemistry

Field of Basic sciences

Biography

Prof. Hassan earned his PhD from Russia and is currently a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Basic sciences, King Salman International University (KSIU), with more than eleven years of teaching experience.

Before joining KSIU, Prof. Hassan has worked as a Demonstrator at the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, Sohag University, Sohag, Egypt (2001-2006). He also worked as an Assistant Lecturer (2006-2013) and as a Lecturer (2013-2018 )in the same department. In September 2018, he was promoted to Associate Professor, a position he held until September 2022.

Prof. Hassan current research interests are focused on synthesis of new organic compounds with their high expected biological activities. These syntheses are considered by multi-component reactions – new green solvents and using new conditions in organic syntheses. Physical characterization of new synthetic organic compounds using high technique FTIR, 1H, 13C, Dept-135, Dept-90, 2D NMR, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallographic. The mechanism of reactions is assumed.
