Biography
Dr. Mabrouk earned his Ph.D. from the University of Porto, Portugal and is currently an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, King Salman International University (KSIU), with eight years of teaching experience.
Before joining KSIU, Dr. Mabrouk worked as an Assistant Professor of Fish Diseases and Management at Suez Canal University, Egypt and as a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Microbiology and Fish Infectious Diseases, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand (2018–2022).
Dr. Mabrouk current research interests focus on developing innovative diagnostic tools such as PCR, qPCR, and RPA-LFD isothermal amplification for the rapid and precise detection of pathogens, particularly in aquatic species. His research extends to identifying multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial strains affecting animal hosts, addressing public health concerns, and exploring eco-friendly active ingredients such as herbal extracts, prebiotics, probiotics, and synbiotics for disease control. His recent work investigates host-pathogen interactions and immune responses to bacterial infections.
