Biography
Prof. Hassan earned her PhD from University of Heidelberg, Germany and is currently a Professor of Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Basic sciences, King Salman International University (KSIU), with more than Thirteen years of teaching experience.
Before joining KSIU, Prof. Hassan has worked as a Full Professor of Molecular Biology in Zoology Department, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, since 2022. Prior to this, she served as an Associate Professor of Molecular Cancer Biology in the same department (2017 – 2022). From 2011 to 2017, she worked as a Molecular Biology Lecturer in Zoology Department, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University. In addition to her academic appointments, she has held various research positions, including a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Bergen, Norway, from 2015 to 2018, and visiting scholar positions at the University of Houston, Texas, and Heidelberg, Germany, in 2013-2014 and 2012, respectively. She earned her PhD from the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg, Germany, (2006-2010). Earlier in her career, she served as an Assistant Lecturer in Zoology Department, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University (2004 – 2011) and Demonstrator in the same department (2000-2004).
Prof. Hassan current research interests are focused on Biomarkers, Chemoresistance, Galectins, Breast Cancer, Recombinant protein production and Biotechnology.
