Global Context on SDG 16

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to significantly reduce all forms of inequality and discrimination, working with governments and communities to find lasting solutions to conflict and insecurity.

KSIU’s vision and mission align with these goals by:

1. Recognizing and identifying the risks of corruption.

2. Developing and completing the structure of the university’s administrative apparatus.

3. Activating administrative quality systems and promoting excellence in government performance.

4. Applying the integrity and transparency system to align with the national strategy to combat corruption.

KSIU seeks to promote the rule of law, human rights, peace and justice, reject violence and conflicts, establish security rules, and eliminate all forms of discrimination, which is a basic human right and a decisive factor in accelerating the achievement of SDGs.

Scientific Research

1. KSIU’s scientific production in this objective (2021-2024) includes 2 research papers with an impact of 2.25 and 16 reference citations.

2. The university encourages researchers to publish internationally to contribute to the goals of peace and justice and find sustainable solutions.

University Policy to Achieve the Goal

1. Fair Recruitment Practices:

   • Announcing jobs on the university website and forming a committee to evaluate applicants fairly, without discrimination.

2. Leadership Equality:

   • Ensuring equality in leadership positions, whether academic or administrative.

3. Government Collaboration:

   • Cooperating with all government institutions in South Sinai Governorate.

4. Education on Human Rights:

   • Teaching human rights courses to students in university colleges.

5. Supportive Units and Departments:

   • Establishing the University Quality Unit and the University Legal Affairs Department.

6. Financial and Administrative Management:

   • Managing financial and administrative affairs with integrity and transparency.

7. Awareness Initiatives:

   • Organizing student initiatives and seminars to raise awareness about the dangers of corruption and its risks to society.

   • Holding training courses for faculty members and employees on integrity, transparency, and combating corruption.
