King Salman International University (KSIU) encourages innovation through its research and development centres, focusing on creating new technologies and improving infrastructure. Special attention is given to supporting the infrastructure of least developed countries, small island developing countries, and landlocked developing countries.

The university’s scientific production in this objective, according to the Scival databases (2021-2024), represents 5 research papers with an impact factor of 0.98 and 89 reference citations.
The university encourages researchers to publish internationally to achieve the goal of Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

Providing grants to innovators, with a ministry-appointed coordinator for innovation grants.
Using energy-saving appliances instead of traditional ones.
Producing new and renewable energy, estimated at 5% of the total annual energy consumed.
Working to establish new renewable energy stations, including:
Two solar power stations.
A wind power station in the El-Tor branch to increase the percentage of renewable energy in total energy use.
