Program Description

The program is of great importance not only to students and researchers, but also to educators and parents who have a great responsibility in raising children. The program aims to expose students to the essential and newest knowledge and skills required for dealing with children, adolescents and people with special needs.
The program also aims to inform students with the nature and types of developmental changes that occur in behavior in every age. This is manifested in physical, motor, linguistic, cognitive, social and emotional growth. Furthermore, the program aims to enlighten students with psychological, social and behavioral problems that accompany every stage and the best methods for treatment and prevention.

The program seeks to prepare psychologists, sociologists and social workers to work for institutions and ministries concerned with childhood and adolescence care and education through the best methods of care.
To achieve this, the program includes vocational training goals related to case studies, guided interview techniques, preparing prevention programs and methods of diagnosis and treatment. The program emphasizes the importance of integrating psychological, social, health and educational services for children and adolescents.

• A graduate with the ability to observe patterns of behavior and raise questions that help in understanding and explaining changes in behavior through age, especially in childhood and adolescence.
• The graduate can assess different behavioral problems facing children and adolescents and figure out their causes and consequences. Moreover, the graduate is aware of how to design preventive and treatment methods to reduce the spread of psychological disorders within children and young people.
• The graduate is aware of the ethical principles of diagnosis and treatment, as well as being efficient in using psychological tests for detection and prediction of learning difficulties and delays.
