Faculty of Dentistry Holds Dental Awareness Activities on KSIU Campuses

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ashraf Saad Hussein, President of the University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Rabab Mubarak, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, The Faculty of Dentistry held many activities. The activities took place over the university campuses in Al Tur, Sharm Al Shiekh and Ras Sudr. Dentistry activities included holding an educational symposium on oral and dental health care and prevention of oral diseases, as well as the negative effects of smoking and its impact on oral and dental health, for university students at the Sharm El-Sheikh branch.

An educational symposium was also held for students in the first year of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the university branch in Ras Sudr on taking care of oral and dental health and preventing oral diseases, as well as the negative effects of smoking and its impact on oral and dental health.

The activities continued, as the Scientific Day for Green Dentistry and Sustainable Development was held on Monday, November 27, at Al-Tur Branch.

The day started with introductory lectures on green dentistry and how to preserve the environment through the various practices used within dental clinics between the dentist and the patient. The theoretical lectures included the use of natural materials in various dental treatments, as well as various practices to reduce the negative impact on the environment and conserve natural resources. 

Nearly 350 first and third-year students participated, where 36 scientific posters of their design were presented, which tackled various dental practices and applications to preserve the environment. All posters were evaluated and the first five winning posters were announced.
